More than 1,200 suspects were arrested on Sunday (Nov. 3) during a massive islandwide anti-narcotics operation titled “Nation United – National Drive”, aimed at eradicating drug-related crime across Sri Lanka.

According to the Police Media Division, officers conducted 1,273 raids, resulting in the arrest of 1,264 individuals. Investigations into illegally acquired assets have begun against one suspect, while 32 others are being held under detention orders.

During the raids, police seized 1.2 kg of crystal methamphetamine (‘Ice’) and over 900 grams of heroin. Additionally, eight identified drug addicts were referred for rehabilitation.
