As part of its nationwide efforts to digitize public services and bolster the digital economy, the government officially launched an online payment facility for Urban Development Authority (UDA) clients yesterday (1) at the Peliyagoda Manning Public Market Complex.

The event, held under the patronage of Minister of Transport, Highways and Urban Development Bimal Ratnayake, represents a significant advancement towards implementing secure, transparent, and efficient digital payment systems within key government institutions.

Through the UDA’s online platform accessible at [https://fmis.uda.lk/login](https://fmis.uda.lk/login), over 1,400 businesses operating at the Peliyagoda Manning Market can now make payments conveniently via the government’s GovPay system.

This initiative aims to eliminate the need for physical transactions and reduce delays, streamlining business operations.

Furthermore, Minister Ratnayake announced that in the second phase of the project, more than 13,500 residents residing in UDA-managed apartment complexes will be integrated into the same digital platform.

This will enable residents to pay for services such as water, electricity, and assessment taxes online, further enhancing convenience and efficiency.
