The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) announced a 12-hour water cut from 8.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. on Sunday (25) in several areas including Colombo. 

According to the NWSDB, the water cut is in place to carry out essential maintenance work at the Ambatale Water Treatment Plant.

It also added that the water cut will be affecting Colombo 1 to Colombo 15, as well as Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, Kaduwela, Battaramulla, Battaramulla, Kolonnawa, Kotikawatta, Mulleriyawa, Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) area, Maharagama, Dehiwala, Mount Lavinia, Ratmalana, and Moratuwa. 

Accordingly, the public was urged to make prior arrangements to avoid inconvenience during the water cut.
