A shooting incident inside the Aluthkade Courts Complex today (19) has left Sanjeewa Kumara alias Ganemulla Sanjeewa dead.

According to reports, the shooter entered the court premises disguised as a lawyer and opened fire, killing the victim on the spot. 

The suspect managed to flee the scene following the attack, and police have launched a manhunt.

The victim, who was remanded at Boosa Prison, had been escorted to court this morning (19) by prison officials for court proceedings at the time of the attack. 

The Morning learns that authorities are also probing security lapses that allowed the assailant to enter the premises armed.
