National People's Power (NPP) National Executive Member Maulvi Munir Mulaffar,  last Tuesday (20) called on the Muslim community that supports the alliance not to be misled by certain videos being shared on social media, which he claimed was being carried out to mislead them. 

“Our Comrade Anura Dissanayake, who leads the NPP, is not from a political family background. We will definitely work to make him the President at the Election on the coming 21st (September). We are not playing political games like some Muslim leaders, we are standing on the platform of National People's Power. If you want to get positions, ambassadors, privileges, this platform is not suitable. We have seen how some Muslim parliamentarians make pacts with corrupt political parties in the country. But today, the educated, intelligent, young Muslims are backing us,” Mulaffar said. 

“We can proudly say that we are part of the Sri Lankan nation and the political leadership that can lead the nation is only with the National People's Power. As of today, mud-slinging video clips are being distributed in the Muslim community.These videos are intended to mislead you all.  Some in the Muslim community, and others in the Buddhist community, and some in the business community are trying to scare people with various false propaganda. But, we request everyone to disregard them, have an open mind and to join hands for a renaissance era,” he stressed.
