The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory for strong winds affecting the Central, Sabaragamuwa and North Central provinces, and the Puttalam, Hambantota, Mannar and Trincomalee districts.

The advisory is in effect until 11.00 a.m. tomorrow (10).

Winds of 40–50 kmph are expected at times due to active south-west monsoonal conditions.

The public has been advised to remain vigilant and follow further updates from the Department of Meteorology.
