President Anura Kumara Dissanayake stated tat the government remains committed to ensuring relief reaches all affected communities without financial delays. 

The President’s Media Division(PMD) said instructions were issued to state officials to submit required information promptly and ensure accurate data collection for compensation. 

During a meeting at the Presidential Secretariat with ministry secretaries and Finance Ministry officials, a specialised team was appointed to speed up data gathering. 

The discussion focused on identifying displaced persons, affected schoolchildren, damaged homes and losses in crops and livestock, and on setting procedures and timelines for disbursing relief.
