A 5-member special committee led by Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police (SDIG) Ajith Rohana has commenced investigations into the Ramboda bus accident that killed 22 people on Sunday.

The team visited the crash site at Gerandi Ella today (13), with plans to collect witness accounts, scientific evidence, and expert opinions to determine the cause.

Initial findings by the Nuwara Eliya District Chief Motor Vehicle Inspector suggest that the accident was not due to a mechanical failure but possibly driver fatigue and overloading.
