The Seventh South Asian Karate Championship recently concluded in Kathmandu, Nepal. Sensei Sri Manjula, who is one of the top Karate Sensei’s in Asia, managed to bring home six bronze medals through his students in the tournament.
Out of the seven students who participated in the tournament, six of them including his own son managed to win Bronze medals in the tournament.
All together six countries including Sri Lanka participated in the tournament which was held on 2 and 3 December in Nepal. Players from Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Bhutan took part in the tournament.
Among bronze medalists was his own son, Pruthivi Sri Geeth who won the medal in the Kata event. Geeth is a grade 11 student at St Anne’s College, Kurunegala.
