Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya met a high-level UAE delegation at Parliament to discuss strengthening Sri Lanka’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.

The Prime Minister outlined ongoing education reforms, including vocational education pathways, and highlighted plans to develop demand-driven programmes to meet global labour market needs.

The UAE delegation expressed interest in supporting and investing in the development of Sri Lanka’s TVET sector.

Discussions also focused on skills development, expanding skilled employment opportunities and exploring investment and partnership opportunities between Sri Lanka and the UAE.
