A Sri Lankan delegation, led by Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, received strong international support for its economic reforms at the 2025 International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Annual Meetings.

Discussions, held between 13–18 October, focused on prudent macroeconomic management and progress on debt restructuring, which was highly commended. 

The Governor advocated for clearer processes in commercial debt restructuring and sustained reform efforts.

A highlight was Dr. Weerasinghe receiving the prestigious “A Grade” award from Global Finance Magazine for his monetary policy leadership.
