A man alleged to have acted as a cash collector for drug trafficker Salindu Malshitha Gunaratne, known as “Panadura Kudu Salindu”, has been arrested with his wife in Ratmalana.

Mount Lavinia Police arrested the couple last night (17) while they were allegedly distributing heroin and collecting money near the Ratmalana Airport Junction.

Police recovered around Rs. 6.3 million in cash, 15.055 grams of heroin, a cash-counting machine, an electronic weighing scale and a scooter.

The suspects, aged 26 and 34, are to be detained and questioned further under detention orders.
