On the sidelines of the 39th African Union Summit, a high-level bilateral meeting was held to advance initiatives in climate action and sustainable development. 


The discussions featured prominent leaders dedicated to tackling the pressing challenges posed by climate change.


Former Maldivian President Mohamed Nasheed, along with former Envoy Ambassador Kananathan, engaged in talks with Kenyan President William Ruto. 


The meeting centered on strengthening cooperation in climate resilience, expanding renewable energy projects, and developing innovative climate financing mechanisms to aid vulnerable nations affected by climate impacts.


The leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to ambitious climate leadership and emphasised the vital role of strategic international partnerships in addressing the global climate crisis.
