US President Donald Trump questioned the US military’s decision to sink an Iranian warship off Sri Lanka, suggesting it could have been captured instead. 

Speaking at a rally in Kentucky, Trump said, “Why did we kill them? Why didn’t we just capture them?” 

He revealed a general told him sinking was “more fun.” The Iranian frigate was torpedoed by a US submarine, killing dozens. 

Meanwhile, 84 Iranian sailors’ bodies are set to be repatriated from Sri Lanka, with authorities coordinating with Iran. 

Sri Lanka is also managing Iranian sailors in custody, with plans to grant visas and provide humanitarian aid amid US-Iran tensions.
