The Department of Meteorology has issued an amber advisory for strong winds affecting the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Northern and North Central provinces, as well as the Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.

The advisory remains in effect until 3.30 p.m. tomorrow(08), with wind speeds of 40–50 kmph expected in the affected areas.

The public has been urged to remain vigilant, as strong winds may cause damage to property, power and communication lines, trees and crops.
