The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory for strong winds and rough seas in the sea areas from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota.

The sea areas are expected to be rough at times, with strong gusty winds of up to 50–60 kmph.

Naval and fishing communities engaged in activities in the affected sea areas are advised to remain vigilant.
