Former SLRC Chairman Sarath Kongahage and former Director General Devapriya Abeysinghe have been arrested by the Bribery Commission.

The arrests relate to allegations of recruiting six employees outside the approved SLRC cadre.

They were assigned to former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella’s personal staff while being paid by SLRC.

The alleged loss to the state is Rs. 14.32 million.
