Three suspects, including a police constable, have been arrested in connection with the shooting in Middeniya that killed a father and his two children on Wednesday (19). 

The family was shot near Kadewatta Junction while traveling by motorcycle.

Accordingly, the father died on the spot, while his children were critically injured. 

The six-year-old daughter succumbed to her injuries at Tangalle Hospital, and the nine-year-old son died the following day.

Police suspect a T-56 assault rifle was used in the incident, and investigations are ongoing.
