Heavy showers exceeding 200mm have hit parts of Sri Lanka, the NBRO stated.

Red (Level 3) evacuation warnings cover 15 DS divisions in Kandy, Kegalle, Matale, and Ratnapura districts.

Level 2 landslide warnings are active in 12 DS divisions, while Level 1 warnings cover 23 DS divisions across eight districts.

Senior Geologist Dr. Wasantha Senadeera noted warnings may change depending on rainfall and urged the public to stay vigilant and avoid landslide-prone areas.
