Cabinet approves additional funds for completion of Amaradeva Asapuwa

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved additional funding to complete the construction and operational setup of the Amaradeva Aesthetic and Research Centre, also known as Amaradeva Asapuwa, located in the Ape Gama Complex, Battaramulla.


The Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau has requested Rs. 21.745 million for the remaining work of Phase Two and Rs. 179.436 million for the final construction phase. An additional Rs. 20 million will be used to purchase essential goods to support the centre’s office operations.


In total, Rs. 221.181 million will be allocated as per the proposal submitted by the Minister of Buddhashasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs.


The Amaradeva Asapuwa is envisioned as a national hub for cultural research and aesthetic excellence, honouring the legacy of the late maestro W.D. Amaradeva.
