Four suspects, including the alleged gunman, have been arrested in connection with two separate murders reported in the Athurugiriya Police Division.

Police stated that the incidents occurred on 17 August and 8 September. Two other suspects allegedly involved in aiding and abetting the crimes were also arrested.

A live hand grenade was recovered from the alleged gunman, who also had an outstanding warrant in connection with a case before the Horana Magistrate’s Court.

The suspects are aged between 21 and 45. Further investigations are underway.
