A satyagraha by Buddhist monks demanding the release of Venerable Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero entered its sixth day today (21) at Viharamahadevi Park in Colombo.

The protest began on 16 October after discussions with the Ministry of Buddhasasana ended without a resolution.

The monks have stated that they will remain at the site until their demand is met.
