The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMT) said that it has not taken a decision about cancelling the driving licences issued before 2009.

This was with regard to media reports published on 12 June about cancelling driving licences issued before 2009. Although a final decision has not been taken, the DMT added that it is looking into the matter.

Moreover, the DMT said that steps have been taken via the media to inform the people to take new driving licences to replace the driving licences obtained before 2009.
