The Sri Lanka Railway Station Masters’ Association stated that it may launch trade union action if long-standing issues remain unresolved.

The association noted that delays in recruitment and promotions, along with administrative inefficiencies in the Railway Department, have affected station masters and passengers.

It also noted that the reduction of the disaster relief allowance for railway employees to Rs. 250,000 remains a key grievance.

The association stated that train scheduling and timetable issues continue to cause difficulties for passengers.
