The Supreme Court (SC) scheduled a hearing for 9 June on a fundamental rights (FR) seeking an interim order to halt the use of software used by the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) and the electronic passport system.
According to petitioners, the software, developed by Epic Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, and used by the NMRA and the Department of Immigration and Emigration, poses risks to data security and public resources.
The case was taken before court on 8 May, during which only the Attorney General (AG) appeared on behalf of the respondents, including Epic Lanka, several foreign companies, and multiple Government officials and ministers.
