President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has assured that all necessary measures are being taken to protect the national cricket team in Pakistan following security concerns after a suicide bomb blast in Islamabad.

The President held discussions with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Chairman and head coach Sanath Jayasuriya, instructing the team to continue the tour while coordinating with Pakistani authorities for maximum security.

Defence Secretary Sampath Thuiyakontha also engaged with Pakistan’s top security officials, leading to enhanced protection for the players, including increased security at their hotel.
