The Road Development Authority (RDA) has issued a safety advisory to motorists travelling on expressways, urging them to pay close attention to warning messages displayed on electronic signboards due to ongoing adverse weather conditions.

The RDA stated that heavy cloud cover and fog during daytime hours are significantly reducing visibility across several sections of the expressways, creating challenging driving conditions.

Motorists are advised to drive with their headlights switched on, maintain safe following distances, and exercise increased caution. Officials also recommend keeping their speeds at or below 60 km/h where necessary and avoiding sudden braking, as such actions could be hazardous under the current conditions.

The RDA emphasized the importance of heightened alertness and careful driving until weather conditions improve, ensuring safety for all road users during this period of reduced visibility.
