A number of commuters have arrived at the Makumbura Multimodal Transport Centre since early morning (11) to travel to their hometowns ahead of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year holidays.

Long queues have formed for bus services.

Authorities assured that sufficient buses have been deployed to facilitate passenger travel without major difficulty.
