Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa extended his congratulations to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following their electoral victory in West Bengal.

In a post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Premadasa described the election outcome as a testament to the will of the people and the resilience of democratic participation.  

“Congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi @narendramodi and the BJP on their electoral victory in West Bengal. The mandate reflects the will of the people and the enduring strength of democratic participation. Wishing India continued progress and stability,” Premadasa stated.

His remarks come at a time when India’s ruling party is consolidating its influence in West Bengal, a state historically dominated by regional parties. The victory underscores the BJP’s growing political presence in the region and signals its expanding national footprint.
