The personal belongings of passengers involved in the Gerandi Ella bus accident, including 35 mobile phones, travel bags, and other items, are being stored at Kotmale Police Station.

According to police, the items were collected with the assistance of local residents at the accident site and will be released to their owners following proper identification.

However, police confirmed that the bus conductor’s cash and ticket book remain missing, while the exact number of passengers on board has yet to be verified due to the driver’s death and the conductor’s hospitalisation.

The accident, which took place on Sunday, 11 May, claimed 22 lives, while 40 others remain under treatment for injuries sustained during the crash.
