Minister of Health and Mass Media Nalinda Jayatissa is set to depart for the Maldives tomorrow (12) to participate in the 21st Asia Media Summit, currently underway at Villa Nautica in the Maldives.

The summit, which began today (11), will continue until 14 May, bringing together policymakers, media owners, journalists, and communication experts from across Asia to discuss key developments in the media sector.

High-level delegates from the region are expected to attend, including representatives from the Maldivian government, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Bangladesh, the Secretary General of BIMSTEC, the Secretary General of SAARC, and the State Secretary for Social Communication of Timor-Leste.

Minister Jayatissa is scheduled to deliver the keynote address during the fourth session of the summit, where he will focus on media policy, public information dissemination, media professionalism, and the responsibility of communicators in serving the public interest.
