Sri Lankan teen Kael Liyanage wins historic bronze at 2025 IPSC world shoot

Thirteen-year-old Kael Liyanage made history by securing Sri Lanka’s first individual medal, a bronze, in the Super Junior category at the 2025 International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) PCC and Mini Rifle World Shoot in Znojmo, Czech Republic, held from 12 to 25 May. 


Competing alongside teammates Daniel Kao and Sandil Kottegoda in the Pistol Caliber Carbine division, Kael excelled across 24 challenging stages at the Hodonice and Oblekovice ranges, facing over 1,000 elite shooters from 60 plus countries. 


His remarkable achievement highlights Sri Lanka’s growing prowess in practical shooting and inspires future athletes.
