Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Shavendra Silva participated in the 10th Beijing Xiangshan Forum in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) from 28 October to 2 November.
This year's forum revolved around the theme of "Common Security, Lasting Peace" and was co-hosted by the China Association of Military Science (CAMS) and the China Institute of International Strategic Studies (CIISS) in Beijing.
During his address at the high-profile gathering, General Silva delved into the pivotal role that developing countries play in shaping the global security landscape. He expounded on the challenges faced by these nations and the importance of fostering stability and cooperation to effectively address contemporary security concerns.
General Lu Zhenli, a member of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and Chief of the Joint Staff Department, CMC, expressed gratitude for CDS General Shavendra Silva's active participation in the forum.
