A restaurant owner was shot dead and his wife injured in a shooting at a restaurant along the Kalutara–Nagoda Road this morning (9), police stated.

The injured woman was admitted to Nagoda Teaching Hospital in Kalutara for treatment.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that two individuals arrived at the scene on a motorcycle and allegedly carried out the shooting using a T-56 firearm.

Further investigations are underway.
