The Department of Meteorology has issued a warm weather advisory for Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, Trincomalee, Polonnaruwa, Batticaloa, Ampara and Monaragala.

The heat index is expected to reach the ‘Caution’ level in some areas during the daytime tomorrow(17).

The public has been advised to stay hydrated and limit strenuous outdoor activities to reduce the risk of heat-related illness.
