IMF commends Sri Lanka’s reform progress, third review announcement pending

Sri Lanka's third review under the $2.9 billion Extended Fund Facility (EFF) will be announced soon, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).


Despite remaining vulnerabilities, IMF Communications Director Julie Kozack highlighted Sri Lanka's strong performance and successful reform efforts.


An IMF team led by Asia Pacific Director Krishna Srinivasan visited Colombo from October 2-4, 2024, meeting with key officials, including President Dissanayake and Prime Minister Amarasuriya.


The IMF praised the country’s commitment to reforms and confirmed ongoing collaboration to set a date for the third review.
