The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the sale of nearly 115,000 metric tons of paddy currently held by the Paddy Marketing Board.

The government stated that the move is aimed at creating storage capacity and generating funds ahead of paddy purchases during the upcoming Yala season.

According to the Department of Government Information, the stocks will be sold through a formal tender procedure.
