Former Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Uddika Premarathne, who resigned from his parliamentary seat last week, has reportedly stated that he will continue the struggle for a change in the present political system by rallying the public.

He had told the YouTube channel ‘Gune Aiyage Kamare’ that he was presently domiciled in Canada and that he would soon return home. However, Premarathne had further noted that he had not sought political asylum and that he was awaiting a work visa. He had added that he was now left with the monies he had earned from his acting career.

Premarathne had also said that he was unaware of the wrongs he had done to the country and as to why he was being insulted.
