Tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka have exceeded 2.2 million so far this year, according to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority(SLTDA).

The authority said that as of 15 December, a total of 2,208,000 tourists had visited the country, reflecting continued recovery in the tourism sector.

Officials noted that sustained arrivals during the final quarter have contributed significantly to overall performance, despite weather-related disruptions in recent weeks.
