The Paddy Marketing Board (PMB) says it has purchased 305 metric tons of paddy since the 2026 Yala season procurement programme began on 13 July.
PMB Chairman Manjula Pinnalanda said the highest volume was purchased from the Ampara District, with additional stocks procured from Mullaitivu, Kilinochchi, Vavuniya and Hambantota.
The PMB is currently purchasing paddy at 143 storage centres nationwide at guaranteed prices of Rs. 120 per kg for Nadu, Rs. 130 for Samba and Rs. 140 for Keeri Samba.
