Two suspects have been arrested after the Police recovered 350 grams of crystal methamphetamine (‘Ice’) following a road accident in the Dorowwa area within the Kotadeniyawa Police Division. The suspects, aged 21 and 25, sustained serious injuries when the motorcycle that they were travelling on collided with a bus on 6 September evening and were admitted to the Dambadeniya Base Hospital for treatment. Police officers from the Kotadeniyawa Police Station who investigated the accident had reportedly discovered the suspected narcotics in the bags belonging to the injured individuals and subsequently taken them into custody. The suspects, residents of Grandpass and Wellampitiya, are currently receiving further treatment at the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital under Police protection.
