Two SriLankan Airlines flights bound for Kuwait City and Dammam returned safely to the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) following temporary airspace closures in the Middle East.
Flights UL229 and UL253 were unable to continue towards their destinations after regional airspace restrictions and remained in holding patterns for around one hour and 10 minutes.
The two Airbus A321neo aircraft later returned to BIA in Katunayake today (15), according to SriLankan Airlines.
