Sigiriya has been recognised as the world’s most welcoming city for 2025 by Booking.com, based on over 360 million verified customer reviews. 

The city, located in Sri Lanka’s “Cultural Triangle,” is celebrated for its natural beauty and rich history, including the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Sigiriya Rock Fortress. 

Visitors can also enjoy the local village’s handicrafts, vibrant batiks, and the nearby Minneriya National Park, known for its wild elephant gatherings. 

Sigiriya topped the list, which also features Cazorla (Spain) and Urubici (Brazil).
