Sri Lanka and Brazil have agreed to significantly boost bilateral trade, setting a target of reaching S$1 billion by 2030 following high-level talks in Colombo.

The discussions, co-chaired by Aruni Ranaraja and Susan Kleibank, focused on expanding economic cooperation and strengthening long-standing ties.

Both sides also agreed to fast-track several agreements covering areas such as security, law enforcement, and traditional medicine, while identifying new opportunities in agriculture, shipping, and sports.

Preparations for a future visit by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to Brazil were also discussed, as both nations pledged to deepen collaboration and enhance engagement across multiple sectors.
