The Sri Lankan Embassy in Tel Aviv has issued an urgent advisory following a wave of Israeli airstrikes on Iran today (13), warning of heightened regional instability and the risk of full-scale conflict.

Citing flight restrictions and suspended transport services, the embassy urged Sri Lankans in Israel to postpone all travel and remain in safe locations. Citizens were advised to stay near designated shelters and stock up on water and dry food as missile threats escalate.

The Israeli strikes, reportedly part of "Operation Rising Lion," targeted key Iranian nuclear and military infrastructure, killing high-ranking Iranian officials, including Major General Mohammad Bagheri and IRGC Commander Hossein Salami. The Natanz nuclear facility was also hit, though radiation levels remain stable.

Iran has responded by deploying around 200 fighter jets toward Israel, prompting fears of retaliation. The UN condemned Israel’s actions, while the U.S. denied involvement but ordered evacuations from the region. Sri Lanka's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring developments through embassies in Israel and Iran.
