The Colombo Magistrate’s Court (MC) has issued arrest warrants against former MP Hirunika Premachandra and several others today (10).

It was revealed that the warrant was issued for failing to appear before the court.

Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali ordered the arrest after only 11 suspects attended the trial.

The Cinnamon Gardens Police are seeking instructions from the Attorney General (AG), with a progress report due by 30 June, 2025.

Premachandra was later seen at the court premises after the trial concluded.
