Sri Lanka has officially inaugurated its new High Commission in Wellington during Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath’s visit to New Zealand.

New Zealand Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters attended the opening ceremony, which included Sri Lankan religious observances and Māori blessings.

Herath stated that the new mission will strengthen diplomatic, economic, tourism, and educational ties while improving consular services for Sri Lankans living in New Zealand.
