The Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) has decided to lodge complaints with the Bribery Commission and the Criminal Investigation Department over Avant-Garde’s involvement in maritime security operations.

COPE Chairman Dr Nishantha Samaraweera stated that the arrangement had caused significant financial losses to the Government.

COPE will also examine recovering the alleged losses and terminating agreements linked to the company.
