The National Movement for Consumer Rights Protection has raised concerns over a proposal to lift restrictions on palm oil imports.

Chairman Ranjith Withanage urged President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to intervene, citing concerns over food safety and consumer health.

He alleged that Finance Ministry officials were seeking to remove the restrictions through a Budget proposal.
