Sri Lanka’s state revenue surged to Rs. 1,454.67 billion in the first four months of 2025 up 19.42% from the same period in 2024, according to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).
April alone saw Rs. 463.19 billion in tax revenue, partly due to the reopening of vehicle imports.
A primary surplus of Rs. 532.73 billion was recorded, though the overall budget deficit stood at Rs. 261.61 billion.
